TERRACOM IP-BASED AUDIO AND CONTROL OVER IP – no expensive server needed!
Almost all IP based school systems require a server before any IP devices can be added. This server typically cost from $5,000 to $15,000 just to get started. With the Penton Audio Terracom system, no server is needed. The system is also flexible enough serve as a bridge between existing analogue systems and an IP head-end making it easy to convert to IP in stages as budgets allow. With a variety of configurable PoE modules that are designed for every application, the Terracom system can easily be applied to a new construction project, facility modernization, or expansion of a facility’s existing system.
The Terracom system also offers so much more. While the system is exquisitely easy to install for any IT personnel, it features a host of sophisticated audio enhancements such as acoustic echo cancellation and noise reduction, filtering out background noise in classrooms during two-way conversations and maintains an even volume independent of who the speaker is.
No longer is it adequate for your paging system to simply make general announcements and signal when class begins and ends. In today’s complex educational environment, it is essential that your facilities are covered by an integrated communication system that can also respond to emergencies. In addition to being dynamic and adaptable to any facility’s requirements, the Terracom system can provide full lock-down by activating maglocks and integrates seamlessly with other emergency communication systems in the school.
Utilizing SIP and streaming audio protocols that are combined with flexible interfaces, the Terracom system integrates to any analog or VoIP phone system; interfaces with classroom audio visual systems and autonomous sound systems; controls or can be controlled by third party systems such as Crestron and Extron.
